The Adele fever doesn't seem like it will be subsiding anytime soon. Aside from winning the big 6 at the Grammys, selling more than 10 million copies of "21" and countless other accolades, Ms. Adele Adkins (I love this chick's name) has managed to attain yet another major accomplishment. The curvy singer-songwriter won a Golden Globe for "Best Original Song" due to her composing and performing her hit song "Skyfall". She was approached to do this song for the latest Bond film of the same name. "Skyfall" was released to universal acclaim and peaked at number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100. However, that's not all, folks. It's went to #1 in 14 countries, has been certified platinum, and has also been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song. I'm not surprised at all that Adele won because the song is hella awesome.
The soulful diva accepted her Golden Globe with great humility and briefly spoke about her newly acquired motherhood with seething happiness. She ended her speech by simply saying "Thank you for letting me be apart of your world". This is the kind of humble and wholesome behavior that is making the world fall in love with her over and over again. Its admittedly so refreshing to see a none egotistical woman who doesn't have the shape of a Popsicle stick amass such an unprecedented amount of success. I wish this girl the best of luck and I'm predicting that she will undoubtedly win that Oscar! You heard it first from me, folks!
